A little kitten that was discovered meowing on the side of a road now has a group of fellow felines to watch over her.
One rainy evening in Montreal, a kind-hearted woman named Arianne was startled by a persistent meow that seemed to be calling out for help. Determined to find the source of the sound, she bravely ventured into the cold and damp night.
As she searched, Arianne spotted a small tuxedo kitten shivering alone on the edge of the road. Unable to locate the cat’s family, she knew she had to act fast to save the poor feline from hunger and cold. Without hesitation, she gently picked up the kitten and brought her to safety in her warm home.
On a rainy and cold day, she discovered a little kitten outside, shivering and hungry. Taking her in, she cleaned her up, fed her, and made sure she was comfortable and warm. She quickly reached out to her local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montreal, to ensure the kitten would receive the necessary care and attention she deserved. Without delay, Celine and her dedicated team from the rescue organized transportation and a visit to the vet for the kitten.
As soon as she was discovered, she was wrapped in a cozy blanket by the team at COMRescueMontreal. “The kitten, believed to be around three weeks old and weighing only 310 grams (a bit underweight) upon arrival, was extremely hungry and let out loud cries demanding to be fed,” Celine recounted. At the end of a tiring day, the kitten, named Rain, was brought to a foster home where she would receive round-the-clock care and be hand-raised with love.
She was unusually small considering her age when she was rescued by COMRescueMontreal. “She was given food every four hours to increase her chances of living,” they said. With the foster mother’s attentive care and gentle touch, the kitten started gaining weight, her fur shining with health, and her eyes sparkling with mischief.
She was provided with meals every four hours by a committed foster caregiver at COMRescueMontreal. Once Rain regained her energy, she began to walk around her nest with a newfound spring in her step. Despite being small in size, the tuxedo cat had a strong desire to survive. She enjoyed her meals and slept soundly as long as she was snuggled up close to her caregivers.
Rain was completely worn out after finishing a large meal. RescueMontreal shared that Rain loved being around other people. Her foster mom would carry her around the house in a comfy carrier with cozy blankets and give her lots of stuffed animals to comfort her loneliness. Despite having humans to keep her company, Rain wished for a playmate or another cat to admire.
She received a bunch of fluffy toys to play with from COMRescueMontreal. When Rai was introduced to a new toy, her eyes lit up with excitement. She started playing energetically, kicking with her hind paws and showing off her wrestling skills. As she got older, her curiosity and thirst for adventure only grew stronger.
She transformed into a more spirited and inquisitive soul at COMRescueMontreal. Rai has experimented with different types of beds, ranging from the cozy comfort of a cloud to the airy relaxation of a hammock. She also has a blanket fort waiting for her to explore or snuggle under after mealtime.
Finally, the moment arrived for Rain to meet Celine’s resident cat and other foster kitties. She was thrilled and quickly snuggled up in the midst of them, petting one of her furry friends. These days, she enjoys spending lots of time relaxing by their side, content in the soft sound of their purrs.
Rain and her new feathered friends at COMRescueMontreal have formed a special bond. Gone are the once-hungry, lonely cries, now replaced by contented purrs. Rain, with her cute round belly, is now surrounded by a furry entourage of cats as she snoozes peacefully.
