Pico, a 9-year-old cat, has gained popularity on social media with 258,000 followers due to his mysterious white cloudy eyes that resemble the universe.
Monica, a 17-year-old from Canada and Pico’s owner, shared on Newsflash that about 5 years ago, Pico developed glaucoma in both eyes, causing his green eyes to turn white and leading to permanent blindness. She and her family adopted Pico after he was hit by a car and remained unconscious for 3 days.
Despite his blindness, Pico’s curious nature and seemingly intuitive abilities continue to thrive.
Pico was diagnosed with high blood pressure five years ago which led to complete loss of vision. Despite his poor eyesight, Pico often gets lost. Recently, he wandered to a house that was up for sale and no one was living in. Despite efforts to find him, Pico only returned home after a couple looking at the house found him and brought him back to Monica.
“Afterwards, they ended up buying the house because of Pico. He was like an angel helping us meet them and they felt a connection with the house that Pico had stepped into,” shared Monica.
Talking more about Pico, Monica mentioned that her beloved cat usually sleeps all day in the room if he doesn’t go out to play. He is very picky with food, only eating tuna or fish-flavored meals, not easily accepting any meat flavors.
“Pico also loves attention. If there’s no one around, he will cry, so I always pamper and spoil him to keep him happy. Pico is also a very affectionate cat, following me around the house step by step,” Monica said.

Due to his eye condition, Pico requires special care and needs to take eye medication daily. However, Monica never feels tired of looking after him. To her, seeing the world through Pico’s cloudy eyes is truly priceless.
“Pico is so cute, and I love him so much. I will never replace him,” Monica said.
The love and affection from Pico is the greatest reward for Monica.
“People who don’t love animals are those who have never been loved by an animal. Just one look or feeling the love from an animal towards you, they will change their mindset. Everyone should love the animals around them,” Monica expressed.
