“Empowered “Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot Flaunts Tiffany Co’s Bone Cuff Bracelet”

The jewelry piece believed to embody the true spirit of the powerful superhero Wonder Woman has made an appearance in the newly released film, Wonder Woman 1984, which recently hit screens in Vietnam. The movie received praise for its storyline and character design, with fans quickly scrutinizing the film’s fashion details. One such detail is the bone cuff that Gal Gadot wore in a scene, which happens to be a famous cuff from Tiffany & Co. When Elsa Peretti joined Tiffany & Co. in 1974, it was during a time when the women’s rights movement in America was stronger than ever. Independent and successful women always wanted to appear in representations that conveyed their message well. Thus, the Bone Cuff was born about 50 years ago, a jewelry piece full of authority that quickly became popular among top celebrities, from Angelina Jolie and Margot Robbie to Naomi Watts.

The idea for this jewelry design was sparked when jewelry designer Elsa Peretti visited Barcelona. The undulating shape of the piece was partially inspired by the architectural style of Casa Milà by Gaudi. Peretti also shared that the design of the Bone Cuff was influenced by her own thin wrists. She designed and molded a prototype on her left wrist but because Peretti was so thin, the cuff left an unattractive gap. To solve this problem, they added some curves to better fit the bone structure of the wrist. This piece of jewelry even served as inspiration for Wonder Woman.

Peretti’s creations are renowned for skillfully capturing the powerful yet feminine nature of women. It was this perception that led director Patty Jenkins to choose Peretti’s jewelry for the Wonder Woman film. Previously, Jenkins had worn a Bone cuff model to the premiere of Wonder Woman in 2017.
“I have always loved Tiffany Co.’s Bone cuff because it symbolizes strength and elegance. When Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins suggested using it for Diana Prince’s character, I thought it was the perfect choice,” says Gal Gadot.
Aside from the time difference, the Bone Cuff from Tiffany Co. is truly fitting for the character of Wonder Woman portrayed by Gal Gadot.
